Rick Dyer claims he hunted and killed Bigfoot in San Antonio in 2012 — and has now released a documentary called "Shooting Bigfoot" to prove it, according to KSAT. However, the first few grainy video clips failed to impress skeptics, even as Bigfoot hunter Dyer said "Bigfoot is 100 percent real — there's no question about that."

The controversy over the existence of Bigfoot is, like that over aliens and UFOs, unlikely to be settled anytime too soon, despite the supposed evidence trickling in in forms of sightings and photographs. This ape-like creature is known to nearly all cultures. He's the Yeti in Asia, Sasquatch and Yowie in Australia, Snowman in the Himalayas, Bigfoot in North California and Mapinguari in the Amazon. Sighted hundreds of times since the mid-19^th century around the world, the Bigfoot creature is variously described as tall as 7 to 10 feet, weighing over 500 pounds, with foot prints nearly 17 inches long. Most scientists, with one notable exception of anthropologist Grover S. Krantz (1931-2002) of Washington State University, discount the existence of Bigfoot.

The creature caught by infamous Bigfoot hunter Rick Dyer supposedly weights 800 to 1,000 pounds and is about 7 to 8 feet tall. Dyer's website recounts the details of the hunt. Dyer said that the Bigfoot sightings of several homeless people living in a wooded area near Texas Highway 151 spurred him to action. To catch the creature, he first bought ribs at the nearby Walmart and nailed the bait to the trees. The Bigfoot, as expected, ripped the bait off the tree before casually walking away. However, the creature turned its head every four or five steps, stated Dyer on his website describing the "classic Bigfoot" look. Finally, he fatally shot the creature with a rifle.

Afterwards, the body of the creature was subject to almost every possible test "from DNA tests to 3D optical scans to body scans," according to Dyer, who wants the world to believe that it's the real deal. Dyer's not alone. "This DNA is like nothing else in the world," claimed researcher Dave Paulides in a statement made to CBS Denver.

The recently released photo of the creature was taken after its body returned from testing. Dyer also uploaded yet another video of crowds of people allegedly watching the dead body of the Bigfoot. However, the video clip doesn't show the corpse.    

Dyer is not the first one to spot Bigfoot in America in recent months. In February this past year, a group of Colorado researchers claimed they had scientific evidence in favor of Bigfoot's existence, while in May, a Pennsylvania man called 911 claiming to have seen a Bigfoot. Reports of sightings have come from literally every state except Hawaii.

But Dyer seems committed to the belief that this is the real deal. "It's Bigfoot and Bigfoot's here, and I shot it and now I'm proving it to the world," he said.
