While debate on the existence of UFOs continues, their sightings have frequently been reported for thousands of years. The latest sighting comes from a large number of people across California who claim to have seen one on New Year's Eve. The federal authorities, however, reported no "unusual flight activity" in California.

Kaye Pinlac of Stockton claims to have captured the lighted object on the video of his iPhone. "I seen like six bright orange colored lights," he told News10, ABC News affiliate. Pinlac said that he saw the weird object, shaped like a triangle or a diamond, and that the lights "just started separating."

There were several others who reported the UFO from different parts of California - including LA, Stockton, Sacramento and Auburn - but all reported the sighting at about the same time.

Marc McCabe captured some nice video shots from his home in the Hollywood Hills shortly after midnight. "The only things in the sky were fireworks and these..." Marc McCabe can be heard saying in the video.

Other than seeing it at nearly the "same time," the reports appear similar in other respects as well. No one, for instance, appears to have heard any sound. A spectator explained the UFO sighting with the help of hand-drawn diagrams, which he presented on TV. "There was no sound and no blinking lights," only a "big illuminated form," he said.

"Well, we saw it right through the trees," Steven Brown, another spectator from Sacramento told News 10. He said that the object "moved up and to the left... It hovered there for probably about 60 seconds, then it took off at a high rate of speed."

The discovery of a crop circle in Salinas, Calif. just days ago also led to UFO-related speculations. California isn't the only place where people witnessed six lighted objects. Several individuals also reported seeing glowing objects in Greensboro and Raleigh, N. C. Although the federal authorities distanced themselves from alien or UFO activities, people are still waiting for an official take on these sightings.

The truth or fiction about UFOs and alien life is an unresolved conundrum with evidences both for and against. However, according to Samael Aun Weor, author of Cosmic Ships, the truth of UFOs is overwhelmingly apparent in thousands of documented cases of unexplained ships.
