The Seattle Woodland Park Zoo is squealing with delight as the zoo's lioness, Adia, recently gave birth to four adorable lion cubs on November 8. The proud papa lion is 13-year-old "Hubert."

According to the Woodland Park Zoo, the birth marks the first litter of lion cubs in the zoo for more than twenty years. The last time the zoo had cubs was back in 1991.

According to zoo doctors, temperatures in Seattle are currently dipping below 50 degrees so it is crucial that the cubs stay inside where it's warm. Once the four little ones grow a little stronger and the temperatures rise above 50 degrees again, the zoo will ready the grand public unveiling of the four baby lions for the first time.

Zoo mammal curator Martin Ramirez has told ABC News, "We've been monitoring them the last few weeks by video camera. By using the video, we've been able to tell the mother is taking great care of them. There was one cub early on that was making us very nervous, though."

Adia is a first time mother and the usual little size for a young mother is only two. Ramirez recounts, "We were all really excited when she had the one, and then she had two, and then three came along, and we were like 'O.K., wow,' and then the fourth one came along and we were a little worried because that's a handful. That's when we made the decision that we're just going to watch and if we have to intervene, we will."

All four cubs were born happy and healthy. So far, the zoo has yet to name the new arrivals but the zoo has planned to hold a poll between 10 to 15 names and let the public vote on what each cub should be named. We expect the announcement to come moments before they're ready for the zoo's delighted visitors.

Celebrating the wonderful occasion, the Woodland Park Zoo has created a short video of Adia licking and grooming her little ones as they play around by her paws. Check out the heartwarming video of Adia and her four little ones below. Be sure to watch the video in high definition for cuteness overload!
