Aleena Headrick discovered a KFC 7-foot bucket in the front lawn of her home in Waynesboro, Georgia. Headrick noticed the bucket last Thursday and could only assume that her eyes were playing tricks.

"I was driving by, I saw this giant Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in my yard, and I thought for sure I was hallucinating, so I called my teenagers who were at home and had them go outside," Headrick said.

Curious neighbors and locals also joined Headrick and her family to marvel at the KFC 7-foot bucket. Humored onlookers also whipped out their camera phones to share the quirky discovery on Facebook.

"Too often we just need something to laugh about and so I put it on Facebook and told them that I would bring chicken to the next potluck," Headrick said.

The odd KFC 7-foot bucket drew so much attention that it even caught the eye of NBC's north Georgia affiliate, WAGT 26.

"I know what you're thinking. The answer is no. There is no chicken in that 7-foot bucket," said WAGT 26 reporter Julie Meeks.

Ultimately, Aleena Headrick learned the KFC 7-foot bucket came from Freddie Taylor, her landlord. Taylor owns a collection of vintage advertising memorabilia. The big KFC 7-foot bucket is the latest addition. However, Taylor had trouble deciding where to put the bucket after buying it, opting to simply leave it in the yard for later.

According to Freddie Taylor, the KFC 7-foot bucket must be at least 40 years old, as "Kentucky Fried Chicken" is no longer spelled out in signage. Taylor aims to have the bucket mounted to a pole in front of the house. Aleena Headrick also supports the idea.

"It's unusual," Headrick says, but it makes directions to the house easier. "We can just say, 'come down to the giant KFC bucket and turn right."

Not only did Aleena Headrick get a new lawn ornament, but Kentucky Fried Chicken has decided to join the fun as well after it learned the funny story. KFC will throw Aleena Headrick a free fried chicken picnic.

"They've got the bucket, now they just need the chicken," KFC spokesman Rick Maynard said.
