Hurricane Cosme 2013: Path Maps Point To Southern California [VIDEO, REPORT]

Tropical Storm Cosme has evolved into Hurricane Cosme on Tuesday over the Pacific just off the coast of Mexico. 

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Cosme is sustaining maximum wind speeds of approximately 80 mph and is expected to strengthen throughout the day. According to ABC News, Hurricane Cosme will likely weaken Wednesday and Thursday.

The eye of Hurricane Cosme is located 365 miles south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. According to the National Hurricane Center, the hurricane is traveling at a northwestern trajectory at an average of 17 mph.

Hurricane Cosme will likely cause large swells to slam along Mexico's Pacific coast and approach parts of southern Baja California by Tuesday evening through Thursday. Surfers are cautioned to stay away from the waters due to dangerous rip current conditions.
